A BIT ABOUT ME

There is a significant difference between a designer who creates designs for you and someone who designs and markets your business using concepts and strategy, with plans for growth and development. The primary focus for a business focussed designer is the end customer and how best to sell your product or service to that customer. The design itself is crucial but it is of little value if it does not create results for you.

My background is in using design in order to sell a product or service. I worked in London for many years where I gained invaluable business experience working for large corporates and media companies.

During that time my view of design changed considerably. I started out somewhat naively believing that the design itself should sell a product or service but then, after many years of working with some very experienced and successful individuals, I saw that creating good design is the more straightforward element – the key factor is ensuring that the design is tailored so that it gets positive results for the client in terms of increased revenue & sales, so a strong background in business for a designer is hugely beneficial.

Therefore when choosing a designer to create something that will represent your company, choose carefully. That person should have experience in business – how can they possibly advise you on what will work best if they don’t have that experience behind them? They should have successful results on campaigns which resulted in a rise in sales – knowing how to market your business is every bit as important as having the skill to design an aesthetically pleasing logo.

If you want a professional brand image, a professional online presence and to be taken seriously in your market, then go for someone who has the experience and results behind them.
